Test Score Percentage Calculator
The test score checker compares the marks you scored against the marks available, so you can see at a glance whether you reached a target and by how much. Enter the marks you got and the total on offer; it shows whether you met the target line and the margin in marks. For a straight percentage of several tests, pair it with the average calculator.

The formula
Result = marks scored ≥ marks target ? "Met" : "Below"
The margin is (marks scored − marks target). To turn raw marks into a percentage yourself: percentage = marks scored ÷ marks available × 100.
Worked example
You scored 45 out of a 50-mark target.
- 45 ≥ 50 is false, so you are below the target by 45 − 50 = 5 marks.
- As a percentage that is 45 ÷ 50 × 100 = 90% — strong, even though it is 5 marks under a full-marks target.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I get the percentage?
- Divide the marks you scored by the marks available and multiply by 100. For 45 out of 50 that is 90%.
- Why compare against a target?
- Setting the target to full marks tells you how many marks you dropped; setting it to a pass mark tells you if you passed.
- Can I average several tests?
- Yes — work out each test's percentage, then use the average calculator to mean them.
